According to the FBI, property and mortgage fraud is the one of the fastest growing white collar crimes.  Property fraud is committed by introducing fraudulent documents in the County Clerk’s Office that could cloud title or ownership of property.

To help you avoid being a victim, the Tarrant County Clerk’s office is providing a Property Fraud Alert service.  PFA is a free on-line notification service that alerts subscribers via email or telephone each time a document is recorded in the County Clerk’s office with their name listed as a signing party.  More than 36,000 Tarrant County residents have already subscribed to the program which was implemented in 2009.

To sign up, visit www.propertyfraudalert.com/tarranttx and follow the instructions.  It takes just a few minutes of your time.  If you prefer, you can call 1-844-746-9164 to sign up.

Other counties in the Metroplex participating in the Property Fraud Alert program include Dallas County and Collin County.  Visit www.propertyfraudalert.com for more information.
